Dental Hygienist- Saturday position

Registered Dental Hygienist

Brooker Memorial is a patient-focused dental practice focused on providing high-quality care to children throughout Litchfield County in our Torrington clinic and school-based programs. We are seeking a skilled and dynamic dental hygienist to join our team. The ideal candidate will have exceptional clinical and communication skills, a gentle touch, a passion for working with young patients, and a commitment to access for care.
 

Job Responsibilities

Patient Care:

• Perform pediatric dental cleanings, scaling, and polishing

• Apply fluoride treatments and sealants to prevent cavities

• Take, develop, and review dental X-rays

• Conduct oral health assessments and document findings

• Assist the dentist with exams and treatments as needed

• Address dental anxiety by creating a welcoming and reassuring environment

Oral Health Education

• Teach proper brushing, flossing, and oral hygiene techniques

• Educate patients and parents on dietary choices and habits affecting oral health

• Provide guidance on gum disease prevention and cavity control

Other Responsibilities

• Demonstrate empathy and respect for diverse patient populations

• Update and manage patient records and treatment plans

• Follow infection control and safety protocols

• Collaborate with dentists and the dental team to ensure high-quality patient care

• Participate in continuing education opportunities to stay up-to-date on the latest advancements in pediatric dentistry

Experience & Qualifications:

• Registered Dental Hygienist, current CT RDH license required

• CPR certified, or ability to obtain certification

• Strong interpersonal and communication skills

• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a patient-focused approach

• Ability to work collaboratively with a team of dental professionals

• Minimum of one-year experience in a private dental office or clinic; experience with children and adolescents preferred

Schedule:

Saturday's: Summer Hours: 7:45 a.m.-1:00 pm Fall-Spring Hours 7:45 AM- 2:00 pm. Optional extra hours
